The Do’s and Don’ts of Pregnancy: A Quick Guide

Pregnancy can be exciting, overwhelming, and full of questions—sometimes all at once. At Image Clear Ultrasound, we’re here to help you figure it all out with free pregnancy confirmation, resources, and options counseling. To keep things simple, here’s a quick list of the Do’s and Don’ts of pregnancy, to help you and your baby stay healthy and happy.

DO:

  1. Keep Those Prenatal Appointments

Your check-ups are like a sneak peek into how you and your baby are doing. Don’t skip them—they’re important!

  2. Eat a Balanced Diet

Fuel up with foods that love you back—fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean protein, and dairy. And don’t forget those prenatal vitamins (hello, folic acid!).

  3. Stay Hydrated

Water is your new BFF. Staying hydrated helps your body handle pregnancy like a champ and keeps everything flowing smoothly.

  4. Rest and De-Stress

Growing a tiny human is hard work! Prioritize sleep, take breaks, and try relaxing activities like yoga or deep breathing.

  5. Learn All the Things

Time to hit the books (or YouTube). Learn about the stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. ICU also has resources and people ready to help answer your questions and prep you for what’s ahead.

DON’T:

  1. Smoke, Drink, or Use Harmful Substances

These can harm your baby’s development and increase the risk of complications. If you need help quitting, reach out for support—it’s never too late to start.

  2. Ignore How You Feel Inside

Your mental health matters big time. Feeling stressed or down? Talk to someone you trust—there’s no shame in asking for help.

  3. Go Overboard at the Gym

Exercise is awesome but keep it chill. Walk, swim, or try other safe workouts, but skip anything risky.

  4. Eat Foods That Could Be Sketchy

Steer clear of things like raw sushi, undercooked meat, unpasteurized dairy, deli meats, or soft cheeses. Better safe than sorry!

  5. Go It Alone

Lean on your people—friends, family, or the ICU team. Pregnancy is a lot easier with support, so don’t hesitate to ask for help.
