At Image Clear Ultrasound, we understand that stepping onto our mobile clinic for the first time can feel like a big moment. You might be unsure, nervous, or carrying a lot of questions, and that’s completely normal.

Our team is here to give you clear information, a calm space, and compassionate support. Below are some of the most common questions we hear from women visiting our clinic.

About Your Visit

What is Image Clear Ultrasound?
Image Clear Ultrasound is a state-licensed mobile medical clinic. We provide free pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, and a private space to learn about your options. We also connect women with helpful local resources in a respectful, confidential setting.

How long will my visit take?
Most visits take about 45 minutes to an hour.

Do I need an appointment?
No appointment needed, just stop by! Because our bus location can change, we do encourage you to call or text 205-484-7660 before visiting to confirm where we’re parked that day.

Are your services really free?
Yes. Pregnancy testing and ultrasounds are provided at no cost.

Can someone come with me?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring a partner, friend, or family member for support.

Is my visit private?
Absolutely. Your information and visit are kept confidential.

Pregnancy Testing & Ultrasounds

Can you confirm if I’m pregnant?
Yes. We offer lab-quality pregnancy tests to verify your results.

I already took a home test — should I still come in?
We recommend testing with us so we can confirm and properly document your pregnancy before an ultrasound.

Can I receive an ultrasound if my test is negative?
In most cases, an ultrasound requires a positive pregnancy test first.

How do I know how far along I am?
An ultrasound allows us to estimate gestational age.

Will you give me a due date?
We can provide an estimated due date based on your ultrasound.

Is the ultrasound safe?
Yes. Ultrasound uses sound waves — not radiation — and is considered very safe.

Will it hurt?
No. Most women only feel slight pressure, but it should not be painful.

Can you tell me the baby’s gender?
No. Our ultrasounds are performed to confirm pregnancy, check for a heartbeat, and determine how far along you are, not to determine gender.

Do I get a picture?
Yes! When possible, we’re happy to provide a printed ultrasound image for you to take home.

Medical & Safety Questions

Is this an actual medical clinic?
Yes. Our mobile unit is clean, professional, and equipped for medical services. We are a state-licensed mobile medical clinic.

Who provides the care?
Our team includes licensed medical professionals along with trained staff members.

What happens during my visit?
After checking in and completing paperwork, you’ll take a pregnancy test. If the test is positive, you may receive an ultrasound and have time to talk through questions or concerns.

Do I need insurance?
No. You do not need insurance for our services.

Can I come if I already have an OB doctor?
If you are currently under the care of an OB provider, we are unable to see you.

I’m experiencing bleeding or strong cramping. Should I come in?
No. If you’re experiencing heavy bleeding or severe cramping, you may need immediate medical care. Visiting the ER is recommended.

Can you tell me if my pregnancy is healthy?
We share what is visible during your ultrasound, but we do not replace ongoing prenatal care. Continued care with an OB provider is important.

Understanding Your Pregnancy

What does an ultrasound do?
An ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of your uterus and pregnancy. It helps confirm viability and estimate how far along you are.

Why is an ultrasound important?
An ultrasound can:

  • Confirm the pregnancy is located in the uterus

  • Detect a heartbeat

  • Estimate gestational age

  • Provide information that may help you understand your options

When can a heartbeat be seen?
A heartbeat is often visible around 6–7 weeks, though timing can vary.

Can you tell me the exact day I became pregnant?
We can estimate based on measurements, but we cannot determine the exact date of conception.
